One of the things I make sure I get done is to set out and plan my business well before it starts to take shape.
I look at the opportunities I can go for, I calculate potential profits from my proposed projects and set goals for my business growth and my income growth.
Once I have this clear and documented, I then break down the achievement of my goals into monthly, weekly and daily amounts.
At the end of every day I look at exactly what I have achieved, and compare between it and my specified goals. This allows me to plan the next day's course of action.
A valuable tip is that you should never switch off or sign off for the day until you have set out your action list for the next day. This will make sure that you are always on track for keeping on top of your tasks and acheiving the majority of your goals.
There are a few important things you should note when you specify goals
Your goals must be measurable because you have to be able to track your performance.
You must track your performance allowing you to adjust it to keep it on track.
You have to keep adjusting your efforts to ensure that you will eventually reach your goals.
Most people who make resolutions inevitably fail because they never track their performance. This in turn does not allow them to adjust their efforts accordingly to keep on track in reaching their goals.
The same can be said about businesses in general. Owners of businesses, especially small to medium sized businesses, are too busy involved working "within" their business rather then "upon" their business. Meaning, that they never have plans for the future growth of their business.
Reality is that they just do enough to get by the day, then they start again the following morning, and then again.
Do not let your business or private enterprise fail in 2008.
Start your plans and lay your goals for 2008 right now.

Home Office and Equipment
If you are serious about working from home as a full time internet marketer, then a well organized office space will help with your productivity. I am sure you are familiar with the 80/20 rule, where 80% of your productivity will come from 20% of your actions. Of the things you do during the day only 20% really matter. By being well organized you can max out your productivity and get a lot more done.
-Make a list each day of the most important things you need to acomplish and then focus 80% your efforts at getting these things done.
-Create a detailed filing system of impotant information and documents.
-Have a quiet space which to work from.
-Take a look at my site Net Salaries for more info.
Equipment:
-I like a desk that is 29" high, it seems to be the most comfortable to work at and is known for office ergonomics.
-You will also want an ergonomic task chair, and when you make enough money go for the Herman Milller Aeron. It is simply the best.
-Use a dual monitor layout so you can have more programs and websites up at the same time, which will make you more productive. I like the Acer 22" widescreen monitors, which is the setup that I use.
-You will need a video card in your computer that can run 2 monitors. I use nvidia cards that are fanless. The fanless cards are so much quieter which is important for concentration. They dont have to be the latest and greatest, but you do want dual dvi connections. The combonation of these connections and the newer monitors is much easier on your eyes and will allow you to look longer at the monitors with much less fatigue.
-A multi-core processor is also a big plus, since you will have multiple applications running at the same time. This will boost your computers productivity and yours. I like intel processors, I think they are the best.
-And probably the most important is the ram. Get at least one gigabyte of ram. This will allow all your applications to run faster.
-A laptop is also a nice addition, as you can work from anywhere. You can also hook up multiple monitors to it as well.
My Setup:
-Desk is an old table 29"hx60"lx36"d, plenty of work space
-Chair is an aeron
-2 Acer 22" widescreens
-Altec p182 case (very quiet case)
-Intel X48 motherboard
-Intel core 2 quad q6600 processor
-Zalman cpu cooler (very quiet heatsink and fan)
-OCZ DDR2 800 ram, 2 gigs
-Asus 8500 GT silent with dual link dvi
-Western Digital Caviar SE16 320gb hard drive
-Seasonic 600w power supply
